HOW TO CARE FOR A BABY RABBIT

Please remember if you buy a baby rabbit

it has just left its mother, litter mates and

the only home it has ever known. Rabbits

totally rely on knowing where feels safe,

and secure ,warm ,clean and smells familier

More kits die from humans thinking they are

being kind than neglect so for the sake of

your new kit please stick to these 4 simple rules:

(1) HOME: When getting home put your new baby

in its home with some hay, that it has laid on

during the journey home,(so it smell right)

then let it settle in Do not let  small children

or friends/family etc keep picking it up.

For the first week feed it, talk to it, stroke it

then leave it to settle.

(2) EXERCISE: You may think you are being kind

by giving your kit as much space as possible, but

remember it is a big scary world for a tiny rabbit

and although you may think its running around,

its probably frantically looking for a safe place to

hide. When it has settled in let it wander in its own

time and make sure if it gets scared it can always

get back to its home and safety .We never let our

kits out until they are 4-5 months old(if a young

kit freaks you will never catch it)

(3) FEEDING: All your new baby will need daily

is fresh hay,a good dried food, water and NOTHING

ELSE until it is about 3 months old then introduce

new foods  slowly .Rabbits are unable to be

sick so if a food disagrees with them, it can

ferment in the stomache and this can be fatal.

(4) HEALTH: Always check your rabbits eyes

are nice and wide and bright, closed eyes are the

first signs of a poorly rabbit, and its bottom

should be clean and its waste never runny

Just a few simple rules and you will have a very

happy healthy rabbit that i hope it will give you

as much pleasure as ours have to us.
